At PORTOKALADA, we pay particular attention to the materials that shape our collections. We believe that a more sustainable approach to fashion begins with thoughtful choices.

All of our fabrics are sourced in Europe (France and Italy) and are certified according to the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, one of the highest international benchmarks for textile safety. This certification guarantees that every component of the fabric has been tested and found free from substances that may be harmful to both human health and the environment.

For our swimwear collections, the majority of our pieces are crafted using Econyl®, a 100% regenerated nylon fibre.

Designed with longevity in mind, Econyl® is produced from recovered waste materials such as fishing nets, textile scraps, and certain industrial plastics, giving new life to existing resources.

Beyond its reduced environmental impact, it offers the qualities we value most: strength, softness, support, and durability. It enables us to create pieces that retain their shape, comfort, and elegance over time.

The gold-toned zamak components used on our swimwear (clasps and sliders) are also fully recyclable. This durable zinc alloy aligns with our commitment to thoughtful design and responsible material choices.

Recycled and recyclable packaging

We intentionally minimize the packaging of our shipments. All our parcels are sent in 100% recycled, recyclable and reusable kraft envelopes.



The tissue paper included in your order is bio-based and recyclable.

The pouches included with your order are either 100% OEKO-Tex® certified cotton pouches or zippered pouches made of recycled plastic. You can use them to store your swimsuit or beach essentials/accessories.
